Abstract Submission Guidelines
Formats
Full Talk (12 min talk, 3 min questions)
Lightning talk (4min talk, 1min questions)
Poster (A0, portrait or landscape)
Selection procedure
Each applicant may submit 1 talk abstract (Full OR Lightning)
Each applicant may submit 1 poster abstract.
Applicants may submit a poster AND talk abstract providing the abstracts do not overlap significantly. Please submit poster and talk abstracts on separate forms.
Full talk
Abstract submissions will be divided into two subsets. Subset A will contain all undergraduate, MSc / MSci and 1st year PhD submissions. Subset B will contain 2nd – 4th year PhD submissions. The best abstracts from Subset A will make up ≈50% of the available full talk slots (exact percentage dependent on number of submissions). The best abstracts from Subset B will make up the remaining percentage.
Lightning talk
Open competition between all applicants. The best abstracts will be selected.
Poster
Open competition between all applicants. The best abstracts will be selected.
Selection criteria
Abstracts should not exceed 250 words. Abstracts structure should follow Andrade 2011. Abstracts will be marked as followed: background (10 marks), methods (10 marks), results (10 marks) conclusions (10 marks).
Submission
Download either the Adobe .pdf form (with built in email submission) or the Microsoft Word .docx form and complete all required information. If you are using the Microsoft Word form please email the completed form(s) to progpal15@palass.org.
