Donald W. Brett The occurrence of plant fossils in the Ischigualasto region in north-west Argentina is discussed in relation to the geology of the area. Specimens of large trunks of Rhexoxylon piatnitzkyi from the Ischigualasto formation are described and the peculiar secondary growth processes of the plant are discussed with reference to this new material.
