RICHARDSON, J. B. 1960. Spores from the Middle Old Red Sandstone of Cromarty, Scotland. Palaeontology3, 1, 45–63.

J. B. Richardson Plant spores are described from the Cromarty nodule beds (Middle Old Red Sandstone) of Scotland. The spores include three new genera Cosmosporites, Rhabdosporites, and Ancyrospora. The genus Auroraspora Hoffmeister, Staplin, and Malloy is emended to include forms, with a light coloured central body, which closely resemble spores of the species Endasporites macromanifestus Hacquebard. In agreement, with Bhardwaj 1957 the genus Cristatisporites is here placed in the series Cingulati. The Palaeontological Association (Free Access)
