The Progressive Palaeontology (ProgPal) is an accessible and free conference organised by students, for students. We are honoured to be hosting the conference at the University of Lincoln this year, from 14th-16th June. Previous iterations of the event have made excellent strides towards making the experience as open as possible to all scientists and creating a positive atmosphere to share knowledge and build lasting connections. We aim to maintain this at ProgPal 2022 and are making particular efforts towards neurodivergent accessibility.

ProgPal is open to any postgraduate student (yet to have completed PhD by the conference date) studying any aspect of palaeontology, as well as undergraduate students starting a postgraduate course later in the year. Registration is free of charge, but there will be an additional charge for delegates wishing to attend the conference dinner and fieldtrip.
Palaeoart competition
As part of the ProgPal 2022 icebreaker event, we are inviting attendants to submit palaeoart under the theme ‘A Linc(oln) to the Past’ to be showcased on the evening of the opening day of the conference. As long as the art is in some way related to the Lincoln of millions of years ago we will accept it! The artist of the best piece (as decided by committee vote) will receive a £40 Amazon Gift Voucher. All art should be emailed to ProgPal2022@PalAss.org with the artists name and a sentence or two describing the piece and how it fits into the theme. Please note that only art entered by conference delegates will be eligible for the prize.
Auction
Prior to the conference dinner on the second day, we will be hosting an auction featuring palaeo-goodies that have been kindly donated by members, and friends of the PalAss. This is a great chance to nab some truly unique pieces at great value, whilst supporting future iterations of ProgPal.
