We are pleased to offer virtual attendance in addition to in person attendance to Progressive Palaeontology 2022 and both virtual presenters and delegates are welcome.
We will be using discord for most of the virtual interaction and a link to join will be circulated once registration closes.
Effort has been made to make all events have a virtual element, but this is not possible in some cases, events that are only in person are listed below:
- Science communication workshop (14th June)
- Conference Dinner (15th June)
- Conference Fieldtrip (16th June)
- LGBTQ+ meetup (14th June)
While the Fieldtrip itself will not be virtual, there will be a free replacement for virtual delegates that will be released in due course.
Given the complexity of running a hybrid conference, not all events will be live. Listed below are the formats in which delegates and presenters can expect virtual events to be run.
All talks will be pre-recorded for virtual delegates and all posters will be available online. There will be a discord channel for questions for each presenter. These questions will be answered at the presenter’s leisure throughout the conference.
The Phylogenetic comparative methods workshop: Livestreamed for virtual delegates to attend and will be recorded for delegates to enjoy at their own pace throughout the conference.
Neurodiversity panel: Held on zoom for virtual delegates with an accompanying discord channel.
The icebreaker: Will have a discord channel so that people can chat and interact with the quiz at their leisure, there will also be voice channels so virtual delegates can chat if they want.
Paleoart panel: Held on zoom for virtual delegates with an accompanying discord channel.
Closing remarks: Will be live streamed and also announced in the discord.
Auction: held on zoom for virtual delegates to bid on items alongside in person delegates.

All posters from virtual delegates will be printed off and displayed in the allotted poster time periods in person delegates will be prompted to ask questions in the presenters specific discord channel.
Presenters are expected to answer questions before the end of the conference but can do so at their leisure.
