Our Meetings
The Palaeontological Association hold regular meetings and events throughout the year, as well as promoting events in related sciences.
Host a Palaeontological Association Meeting
Our meetings are made possible by the generosity of the meeting hosts, who volunteer their time to facilitate each meeeting. The association is very grateful for their contribution. Details of how to volunteer to host a PalAss meeting are outlined below.
Hosting The Annual Meeting
Hosts for our Annual Meeting are usually identified several years in advance, and supported throughout the organisation process by our meetings coordinator. If you are potentially in a position to host an Annual Meeting, please contact the meetings coordinator who will be able to answer all your questions.
Hosting Progressive Palaeontology
The process to apply to host Progressive Palaeontology is more formalised than that for the Annual Meeting. The document linked below outlines the process by which, and criteria through which, hosts are selected. Please contact the meetings coordinator if you have any queries.
Deadline: 1st October at 23:59 BST.
Annual Meeting
The Annual Address
The Annual Address is one of the flagship events of the Annual Meeting of the Palaeontological Association and, unlike other aspects of the meeting, is open to non-delegates. Notable palaeontologists are invited to give the Annual Address, with speakers generally holding mid-level research positions. Speakers are chosen by the Association’s Council. Speakers are invited to talk about a subject of their choice from their own research, noting that the talk is open to interested members of the public as well as career palaeontologists.
The page linked below lists all annual speakers since the Association was founded.
