The genus Slimoniphyllum is erected with Rodophyllum slimonianum Thomson as type species. A new description of the type species is largely based on a series of specimens in trie Garwood Collection. The ontogeny, variations, affinities, and distribution of Slimoniphyllum slimonianum are discussed.
