Abstract

A fauna consisting of numerous specimens of the ammonoid Beyrichoceras travellynense sp. nov., together with the nautiloids Mooreoceras regulare sp. nov., Vestinautilus sp., and Knightoceras? sp., is described from the Bingleburra Formation of the Gresford District, north-west of Newcastle, New South Wales. It is suggested that the fauna may be correlated with the middle to upper part of the Beyrichoceras zone of Europe.
